Sox, baby, sox. Two of them. Finished.
.
Click on the picture if you want a closer view. You might not want to, though, it’s been a while since I shaved those legs…
No, they don’t match. They’re not supposed to. (they are the same height, mind you, it just doesn’t appear that way in the picture). I decided to swap the main color and the contrast color for the fair isle stuff at the top, and flipped the diagonal stripe pattern over so the stripes twist the opposite direction on the second one. But they fit, they’re comfy, they’re REALLY soft, and I’m diggin it.

On the ferry this morning I managed to get down to less than 10 rows to go on the second sock. The toe decreases are coming along nicely, and with any luck I’ll have that sucker finished long before I get home tonight. Maybe I’ll even make some further progress on Robin’s scarf. And since I cleaned the kitchen at the butt-crack o’ dawn this morning, I won’t even feel a little bit guilty about sitting in the basement watching Rabbit Proof Fence and spinning some alpaca tonight. Maybe this day won’t totally suck after all…

I just updated the css file for the site, and changed the default font to something (hopefully) slightly more readable than the ‘Lucida Grande’ that Wordpress had defaulted it. Blah, blah, technobabble, blah, blah… Hopefully this will make everything better. Everything.

What do you think of the font on this page?
I was just reading through today’s posts, and am thinking that it’s kind of hard to read. Kind of squished together. Feh. Just not workin’ for me. Should I change it? Should I just suck it up and leave well enough alone?
Tell me what to do, oh lovely readers! Speak now, or forever hold your peas.

That any of y’all are desperate to buy me a present: http://www.morehousefarm.com/GiftIdeas/Pottery/
I need that mug. And no, need is not too strong a word. That cave drawing of the sheep speaks to me. I’m thinking seriously that it may well just be my next tattoo. That mug has been callin’ my name for months and months and months now. Sigh.

In my infinitate idiocy this morning, I managed to fall asleep on the ferry with a sock-in-progress in my hands… You can see where this is going, can’t you?
At some point I curled up in a little ball and tucked it neatly under the right side of my head, since it was soft and smooshy and kind of pillow-ish. Um… Yeah. So, we pull in to the dock, and I wake up, sit up, and feel the knitting FALL. OFF. MY. FACE. Plop. Into my lap. (sinking feeling ensues).
Looking in the mirror I discover that the very obvious imprint of knitting (complete with two bobbles), and two of the 5 dpn’s. Oh yeah, baby, I got your sexy right here. Hooo-ee! Uh-huh-uh-huh.
On the bright side, tho, that sock is past the half way point! Woot! I should be able to finish the gusset decreases on the boat tonight, and then maybe I can sit on my butt and knit at the house (which has become a no-no somehow - I knit on the ferry, spin at the house. Not sure how that happened, but I feel guilty now when I knit in the house…) tonight while watching Supersize Me. Which I’m thinkin’ is gonna be icky, but whatever. It needs to be seen.
No pictures today, ‘cos I wasn’t about to share that image with more people than the ones who saw me before it flattened back out.

I upgraded to Wordpress from Movable Type last night. What a difference! Other than some database issues, which I found the answer to in Drak’s support files (thanks Jen!), the install and config went frighteningly smoothly. Including moving all of the content over from MT, which I was sure was going to be a pain in the ass. Sweet!

Of Robin’s scarf, in progress, at roughly the half way mark:
So there.
