Oh Wow

Let me just say that Really Bad Things happen to Elsebeth Lavold’s Silky Wool when you accidentally run it through the washer with a load of socks and jeans on the heavy duty cycle. Really Bad Things.

Surprisingly, it didn’t felt. When I reached into the washer my first thought was “omg, how did an angora sweater get in here???”. It’s fuzzier than our three cats combined, and really really really soft. The weird bit was the shape. It fit perfectly when I made it. It fit perfectly after it got gently hand washed and laid out flat to dry. Now? It is roughly 5″ shorter than it was, and, oh, say three times as wide as it was. But only at the bottom. The top seems to still be pretty much the size it started… I’ve blocked the everlovin’ crap out of it, so we’ll see what happens when it dries.
