Ooh! Big excitement!

I finally fixed the search feature. Hot diggity damn. Took me long enough. But it’s fixed! For your searching pleasure!

Ok, I know I said I wouldn’t, buuuttt….

When the fiber faeries decide I need to learn to weave and ensure that a FREE loom comes my way, who am I to say no? Since I haven’t gotten around to charging the camera battery yet, I can’t show you pictures of it. (And yeah, I know, I need to post some pictures of a LOT of stuff… baby steps, k?) But, I can tell you that it’s a Rasmussen, it was made here in Seattle, it’s a table loom, and it will do widths up to 25″ (from what I’ve been able to gather thus far from the meager bits I can find about them online). It looks to be in surprisingly good condition. There’s one like it
that was listed on ebay a while back, and can probably still be seen for a while here. Guess I need to buy some more books, eh?

On a totally unrelated note, I actually spent some time in front of the wheel this afternoon, and managed to spin up the entire bump of green roving that Angela gave me while I was up in Vancouver. And? Guess what. It’s not lace weight. Woo! It is, however, quite pretty all spun up, although I don’t know what I’m going to do with it. No clue how much of it there is, but I’ll measure it out once it’s all dry. Heck, maybe by then the camera battery will be charged up.

Oh come ON! It could happen.

Exhausted, but it was all worth it

We got home a couple of hours ago from a wonderful weekend in Vancouver. I love Vancouver above almost all other cities. And now that I have friends up there, well, hell! There’s no telling how often I could end up visiting my favorite city. Woo!

We headed north for our annual Thanksgiving day avoidance trip, and spent three food-filled days with Angela and her honey, and then got to see Mel on our way back home this afternoon for more fiber and more food. ‘Cos you can’t really ever eat enough up there, apparently. Or maybe you can, judging by the looks we got as the waiter stood by our table last night trying desperately to figure out where to put that one last plate of sushi…

But it was Good, and I’ll write more about it tomorrow when I’ve had a chance to sleep off some of this food baby I’ve got going.

I’m lame, I know

But I have an excuse! Several, really. All prepared and ready! And a note! Ok, well, maybe I don’t have the note, but the excuses? Yeah, I got those in spades, baby.

First up, I’b behd sibk. By hebd? Fulla snobt. And I know how much y’all love it when I share with you, but I ain’t sharin’ snot. It’s mine, and you can’t have it.

Then there’s work, which as been kee-razy! Nuff said on that.

And then… Everything on my damn needles at the moment, save for one pair of socks, is for other folks for xmas. So I can’t share! Ooh! And I found THE coolest thing EVER and got several of them for some of my knitterly friends (Kim and Mel and Angela among others…).

So, although I’ve been busy, busy, busy, and knitting up a storm, y’all are just going to have to wait and see. So there.
